About me

“I am drawn to man-made subject matter, probably from my years as an architect.  I enjoy exploring the form and texture of both shiny new and aging objects, often coming in for a close up view.  Dramatic lighting brings depth to the objects and a theatrical sense often at odds with the common nature of the subject.

My work starts with a photograph.  I always have a camera on hand to capture unexpected objects and compositions.  I crop the image on the computer to discover the most interesting and dramatic arrangement.  I use a variety of sanded papers, depending on my subject matter and both hard and soft pastels. ”
