On the day I found this car the bright blue wall in the background was perfectly matched by the bright blue sky reflected in the front bumper. And I loved the contrast of the textures, the rough rusting metal and the smooth shiny chrome. And lastly is the wonderful sculptural quality many of the old cars exhibit; here was a hood that was curved and sensuous. And to heighten the sculptural quality I exaggerated the contrast to bring added dimension to the painting. Happily
