On the day I found this car the bright blue wall in the background was perfectly matched by the bright blue sky reflected in the front bumper. And I loved the contrast of the textures, the rough rusting metal and the smooth shiny chrome. And lastly is the wonderful sculptural quality many of the old cars exhibit; here was a hood that was curved and sensuous. And to heighten the sculptural quality I exaggerated the contrast to bring added dimension to the painting. Happily this painting will be on exhibit in Charlotte, NC at the Elder Gallery for the month of June in the Carolina’s Got Art Exhibition.
